Privacy notice

At VDTGlass we take care of the personal data you share with us. Here we explain what data we collect, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights, in accordance with Mexican law and the principles of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible for your data

VDTGlass by VetroPVC, based in Chihuahua, Mexico, is responsible for processing your personal data.

For any question, rights request or withdrawal of consent related to this notice, write to us at contacto@vdtglass.com.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect data when you use our online quote builder, message us on WhatsApp, email or phone us, when we visit your site or when you hire our services.

  • Identification and contact: first name, last name, mobile phone, WhatsApp number, email and, where applicable, company.
  • Project site data: installation address, number, ZIP or postal code, city, state, country and project stage.
  • Project information: products of interest, window or door types, measurements, quantities, notes, and any drawings or photos you choose to send us.
  • Billing and contracting data: if you hire us, legal or personal name, tax ID, tax address and the data needed to issue invoices and provide the warranty.
  • Technical browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, which the site's technical providers may receive (see section 10).

We do not request sensitive personal data (for example, about health, beliefs or ethnic origin). Please do not include it in the notes, messages or files you send us.

3. What we use your data for

Purposes necessary for the service you request

  • Preparing and sending you your quote.
  • Contacting you by WhatsApp, phone or email to follow up on your request.
  • Scheduling and carrying out visits to take measurements or review the site.
  • Entering into and fulfilling the contract: manufacturing, delivery, installation, warranty and after-sales service.
  • Issuing invoices and meeting tax and legal obligations.

Additional purposes (not necessary for the service)

  • Sending you information about products, news or promotions.
  • Inviting you to rate our service or leave a review.
  • Producing internal statistics to improve our service and this site.

If you do not want us to use your data for these additional purposes, write to contacto@vdtglass.com at any time. Declining will not affect the service you requested.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We only share it in these cases:

  • Companies in the same group (VetroPVC and its manufacturing plant), to manufacture, temper and install the products for your project, under the same privacy policies.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf: messaging (WhatsApp, by Meta), the site's maps and fonts (Google), web hosting and, where applicable, customer management tools. They only use the data to provide their service to us.
  • Competent authorities, when required by law or by a duly grounded request from an authority.

The transfers above do not require your consent under applicable law. If in the future we need to share your data for another purpose, we will ask for your consent first.

6. International transfers

Some technology providers we use (such as Meta and Google) may store or process data on servers outside Mexico, mainly in the United States. We also serve projects in the El Paso, Texas area, so your data may be processed in Mexico and in the United States.

In these cases we seek providers that offer adequate safeguards, such as contractual clauses or other mechanisms recognized by applicable law.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Quotes that do not go ahead: up to 24 months from the start of your last contact with us, so we can follow up if you resume the project.
  • Clients: for the duration of the business relationship and the warranty, and then for the periods required by tax and commercial law.
  • If you withdraw your consent or request deletion: we block your data and delete it once the applicable legal periods end.

8. Your rights and how to exercise them

At any time, you can:

  • Access your data and learn how we process it.
  • Rectify or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Cancel or request the deletion of your data.
  • Object to its use for specific purposes, including automated processing that significantly affects you.
  • Withdraw your consent, without retroactive effect.
  • If the GDPR applies to you, you can also request restriction of processing and portability of your data in a commonly used format.

How to submit your request

Send an email to contacto@vdtglass.com including:

  1. Your name and a way to reply to you.
  2. A copy of your official ID or, if you are acting on behalf of someone else, the document proving your authority.
  3. Which right you want to exercise and regarding which data.
  4. Any document or detail that helps us locate your information.

We will respond within the periods set by applicable law and tell you how your request will be carried out. Exercising these rights is free; only reasonable shipping or copying costs may be charged, where the law allows.

9. How to limit the use of your data

You can ask us to stop sending you marketing information by writing to contacto@vdtglass.com; we will add you to our internal opt-out list. In Mexico, you can also register with the Public Registry to Avoid Advertising (REPEP) of the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO).

10. Cookies and similar technologies

This site currently does not use its own advertising or analytics cookies. It uses:

  • Technical session storage in your browser, needed for the site to work. It is cleared when you close the browser.
  • Local storage for the quote builder in your browser, to keep the products you selected if you reload the page or come back later. It only stores the product configuration (type, measurements, quantities and notes), never your contact details. It is cleared when you send your request, when you choose "Start over" or automatically after 7 days.
  • Google Maps embedded on the page, which may set Google cookies and receive your IP address.
  • Google Fonts, whose servers receive your IP address to deliver the fonts.
  • Links to WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, which, once opened, are subject to Meta's privacy policies.

Your consent. When you first visit the English version of the site, a banner lets you accept all, reject all or choose which optional cookies to allow: analytics (to understand how the site is used, for example Google Analytics) and marketing (to measure our ads, for example Meta Pixel). These optional tools stay off until you accept them. We store your choice in your browser and you can change it at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the page.

If we add new measurement or advertising tools, we will update this notice before enabling them. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

11. Security

We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your data against damage, loss, alteration, destruction or unauthorized use, access or processing. Only staff who need your data to handle your project have access to it. If a breach occurs that significantly affects your rights, we will inform you as required by law.

12. Minors

Our services are intended for people over 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we find that we received data from a minor without authorization from their parent or legal guardian, we will delete it.

13. People outside Mexico

European Union and European Economic Area: if the GDPR applies to you, in addition to the rights in section 8, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.

United States and other countries: we recognize the privacy rights granted to you by the laws of your place of residence. We do not sell your personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can exercise your rights through the same procedure described in section 8.

14. Authority in Mexico

If you believe your right to personal data protection has been violated, you can go to the competent authority in Mexico. Since March 2025, under the new Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, this role belongs to the Ministry of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance (Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno).

15. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice due to changes in the law, our services or our practices. We will publish any change on this page, with its update date. If the change is significant, we will also inform you through the contact details you provided.
